500770-RX: Management of multi-server systems supporting HDMI displays in IT departments
Note: Transmitter units are purchased separately
The 500770 USB-HDMI KVM extender over IP with PoE allows HDMI and USB equipment to be connected up to 330 feet (100 m) over an Ethernet LAN, supporting 1920x1200 and 1080p resolution @ 60Hz via one CAT-5e/6 unshielded twisted pair cable in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations.
The Transmitter (500770-TX) and Receiver (500770-RX) support PoE (PD) if used with a PoE (PSE) Ethernet switch.
The Transmitter connects to a computer via HDMI and USB ports. The Receiver terminates to an HDMI display, USB 1.1 keyboard and mouse, and two more USB 2.0 devices such as a printer, drawing pad, storage device, camera, etc., via a 2 port USB hub.
For KVM switching, KVM splitting and KVM matrix configurations, the Ethernet switch must have Gigabit ports, Jumbo Frame capability and DHCP Server capability. MuxLab recommends using the Cisco SG300-series managed switches.
In KVM switching configurations, a single Receiver can be switched via keyboard-hotkey sequences to any Transmitter on the network (supporting up to 16 computer-sources (via 16 Transmitters) to one Receiver). Alternatively, or for configurations larger than 16 Transmitters, an on-screen display (OSD) is used for switching. This allows a single operator to manage numerous servers/workstations in a distributed KVM application.
MuxLab ProDigital Network Controller (500812) is available to simplify the configuration and utilization of the 500770 and other MuxLab IP based products via an Ethernet web interface.
