• Flexible signal extension: Extends HDMI video, USB, RS-232, IR, and stereo analog audio over a standard Gigabit LAN (local area network)
• Independent signal routing: Video, audio, RS-232, IR, and USB can be routed independently, allowing any Receiver to connect to any Sender on the network to create a virtual matrix
• Integrated KVM functionality: Features two USB 2.0 ports for connecting a keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices, with support for USB Roaming and OSD hotkey switching
• Built-in video-wall controller: Create dynamic video walls with configurations up to 16x16, complete with bezel compensation for a seamless display
• Audio de-embedding and return: A built-in audio de-embedder breaks out analog stereo audio, while an optical input supports an audio return path (ARP) from the display location
• Power over Ethernet (PoE): Conforms to IEEE 802.3at standard, allowing the Receiver to be powered via a PoE-enabled network switch without a separate power supply
Gefen GF-HDK18G-VIP-RX 4K HDMI KVM over IP Receiver - along with Sender (Transmitter) unit(s) - provides remote access to your high-definition and Ultra HD sources over a local area network (LAN).
This powerful Receiver unit allows you to extend 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI video, audio, RS-232, IR, and USB signals up to 330 feet (100 m) from any Sender unit on the network.
Part of a flexible and scalable AV over IP system, this Receiver, when used with a Sender, can be used in a simple extender configuration or expanded to a sophisticated virtual matrix KVM switch system.
Ideal for large-scale remote workstation access, digital signage, and high-performance AV applications, this HDMI extender solution offers a versatile and massively scalable system for your professional AV and IT needs.
Power-over-Ethernet allows Sender and Receiver units to be powered through a standard PoE-enabled IP network switch, without the need for external power supplies.
Each cable run from a Sender to a Receiver or from a Sender or Receiver to the network switch can be up to 330 feet (100 m). A built-in 2-port Gigabit switch on the Receiver allows daisy-chaining of additional Receivers or other IP-enabled devices. In applications such as digital signage, where there is a need to replicate content on multiple displays, the ability to cascade Receivers removes the requirement for each cable to be run directly to the main network switch, thereby extending the range of these units far beyond the limits of a point-to-point video distribution system.

Sender and Receiver can be used as extenders in a one-to-one system, or as nodes in a virtual matrix environment where any source can be routed to any or all displays, supporting up to 39,900 Senders and a combination of over 65,000 units. Applications include high performance AV and signage systems in sports bars, clubs, restaurants, board and huddle rooms, command and control centers, museums, airports, classrooms, auditoriums, hotels, and retail establishments.
The low-profile Sender and Receiver units feature a half-rack-width enclosure, perfect for rack-mounting using the Gefen EXT-RACK-1U-GRY rack tray (available separately). They can also be surface-mounted, placed on a shelf, or tucked away in the equipment closet or behind a display.
When used in conjunction with GF-AVIP-MC AVoIP Matrix Controller (purchased separately - see listing below), system configuration is automated and quick. Its MFU (mass-firmware-update) feature keeps the entire system up-to-date without the need to access and upgrade each unit separately. Enhanced network security by separating the control and AV networks is also made possible with the GF-AVIP-MC. Other control options include front panel buttons, Web server interface, Telnet, UDP, and the Gefen Keyboard Switching Controller software (available for download at www.gefen.com).

How It Works
Gefen HDK18G-VIP system operates with two main components: a Sender unit (sold separately) and one or more Receiver units connected over a standard Gigabit LAN (local area network).
The Sender unit connects to your HDMI or USB-C source device, and the Receiver unit connects to your display.
Using an Ethernet switch, the system extends signals up to 330 feet (100 m).
By setting the channel ID on the Sender and Receiver units to match, you can route the source signal to the desired display.
By adding multiple Senders and Receivers to the network, you can create a flexible and massively scalable virtual matrix, allowing any connected console to control any source on the network.
