XD-C650P-DP-US: Extended-desktop DisplayPort MST KVM extender
video, USB keyboard/mouse, transparent full-speed USB 2.0 and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable
• Quad-monitor HD 60 video, USB 2.0 and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable
• Point-to-point protocol for ultra-low latency
• Flexibility between copper and fiber connectivity
ADDERLink™ XD-C650 is a state-of-the-art quad-head KVM extender that utilizes built-in DisplayPort™ MST technology and HD resolution support to give you maximum flexibility and control of your critical computers and workflows. Multiple audio types, emulated and hi-speed USB 2.0, and ultra-low latency control give you a true 'at-the-PC' experience.
ADDERLink XD-C650 is a high performance KVMA (keyboard, video, mouse and audio) extender that is designed to provide reliable and real-time access to critical computers – regardless of the location, while maintaining the same user desktop experience.
Developed for enterprise organizations and high-pressure control rooms, it combines the simplicity of true plug and play and high performance 4K KVM extension for superior functionality and flexibility.
Using either fiber-optic or CATx links, these compact (Transmitter and Receiver) modules allow you to extend KVM connections over long distances from a host computer. High-grade screening is employed within the metal cased enclosures, particularly when combined with the immunity from interference of the fiber optic links.
ADDERLink XD-C650 extender modules provide support for:
• High quality single-, dual-, triple- or quad- digital video
• Video resolutions up to 4K 4096x2160 @ 60Hz
• USB keyboard and mouse plus two other USB 2.0 devices
• An RS232 serial device at speeds up to 115200 baud
• Mono microphone
• Stereo speakers
• Line-level audio in/out connections
ADDERLink extender modules are totally transparent in operation, leaving you free to use your computer as though you're still sitting next to it.
ADDERLink XD-C650 modules support the MST (multi-stream transport) protocol, which was introduced in the DisplayPort™ 1.2 standard. MST allows feeds for multiple video displays to be fed along a single cable.
ADDERLink XD-C650 modules use a single DisplayPort link to accept up to four video streams from the host computer. This combined MST* stream is then transferred to the receiver, where you can connect multiple video displays in a daisy-chain (or via a third-party MST hub) from the primary video output port.
All but the final video display in the chain on the receiver must specifically support MST on DisplayPort 1.2 or later. These displays will each have a DisplayPort output port to allow the
daisy-chain link to continue to the next. The last video display in the chain does not need to support MST as it is the final destination for the video signals.
Support for Multiple Non-MST Video Displays
If you wish to connect multiple video displays to XD-C650 receiver that do not support MST, then an MST hub may be required. There are two options:
• You can enable an internal hub within the XD-C650 receiver, which will allow non-MST video displays to be connected to the two output ports so that they can use the first and second video streams respectively.
• You can use an external MST hub (not supplied), which will receive the combined DisplayPort signal from the first video port on the receiver and split out separate links to the standard video displays.
An external MST hub can receive the combined DisplayPort MST signal from the first video port on the receiver and split out separate links to standard video displays (the
second video output port on the receiver will be disabled).
Quad-Head (or Triple-Head), High-Definition Video
The system supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz using 8 bits per color and 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Up to four heads are transmitted within a single cable by utilizing DisplayPort 1.2 MST (multi-stream transport) technology.
Four video heads are supported by either daisy-chaining MST-compliant monitors, or using standard monitors connected to an external MST hub.
Dual-Head Video Extension
An integral MST hub is included at the Receiver unit for users requiring dual-head output supporting 2560x1600 @ 60Hz.
Single-Head 4K Video
XD-C650 supports a 4K single-head 4096x2160 @ 60Hz (DCI 4K60) video extension.
Up to 2.5 Miles Extension Distances
ADDERLink XD-C650 supports both copper and fiber interfaces. It provides a range of up to 328 feet (100 m) over a CAT-6 cable link, and up to 2.48 miles (4 km) over an optical fiber link (fiber SFP modules sold seperately).
Single cable
Video, USB keyboard/mouse, USB 2.0 (transparant) peripherals and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable.
Emulated and Hi-Speed USB 2.0
USB 2.0 emulation ensures reliable connection of full and low speed HID devices (mouse or keyboard). Mass storage devices and isochronous devices, such as webcams and audio headsets can also be used through the transparent USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port.
Plug and Play
Uses a low-latency point-to-point protocol over a single CATx or fiber cable that works as soon as it is connected. No network set-up, driver or software is required.
Digital Audio over DisplayPort
Supports two channels of 24-bit, 192kHz sampled PCM audio over the DisplayPort connection.
Audio
• DisplayPort: Encapsulates two channels of 24-bit, 192kHz sampled "Pulse-code modulation" (PCM) audio with each video signal
• USB: Two channels of 24-bit, 96kHz sampled PCM audio
• Analog: Two channels of 24-bit, 96kHz stereo audio for line in/out, microphone and headphone/speakers
Monitor Flexibility
EDID management allows the monitor capabilities to be passed back to the host computer for optimum compatability.
Serial communications
RS232 can be passed between the units to a maximum rate of 115200 baud with RTS/CTS flow control.
In the Box
1x Transmitter (Tx) unit
1x Receiver (Rx) unit
2x Power-supply units
1x DisplayPort cable (VSCD18)

* When using more than one video display, the host's video adapter, operating system and applications must support MST. Windows™ and Linux fully support MST, however, no devices
manufactured by Apple® currently support it. Check that the video card and display specifications support the required number of daisychained displays.
