HFX-KM is a 4K HDMI 2.0 (3840x2160), USB keyboard/mouse, bidirectional RS-232 serial control and stereo audio extender, sending signals up to 2 km (1.24 miles) away over a single conventional and inexpensive fiber cable.

This new technology is superior to older HDMI extenders that require a special single fiber shielded cable to go a short distance.

HFX-KM also supports RS-232 serial pass through and acts as an extension.

If a user has a video source and an RS-232 controller (e.g. Extron), this unit can extend both the video and the serial signal (no serial commands of its own, just extension of the controller's serial signal over fiber).
