Screen Modes

EDID Aux Emulation
With EDID Aux (DisplayPort Auxiliary channel) video emulation, your window and monitor configurations remain intact when switching between computers, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted workflow.

Unlike traditional DisplayPort KVM switches, SM-EDPN-Pro is designed to overcome the inherent DisplayPort loss of emulated picture when switching from one connected computer to another (leading to a disorganized desktop video upon switching). SM-EDPN-Pro's built-in EDID Aux emulation offers full EDID video emulation that ensures visual workspaces and screen resolutions are remembered every time you switch between computers.

SM-EDPN-Pro's built-in EDID Aux emulation offers:
• Consistent screen resolutions: With EDID (Aux) Emulation, your screen resolutions stay static, providing a stable visual experience when switching between connected computers
• Persistent icon and window positions: Switch between connected computers without the chaos - icons and window positions remain undisturbed, ensuring a smooth transition between tasks

Flexible Control
Any external device or program supporting RS-232 can control SM-EDPN-Pro. SM-EDPN-Pro uses a very simple protocol, enabling easy integration with the RS-232 control devices.
Front-panel push-buttons along with keyboard hot-keys and Web interface also allow the user to switch between computers and control all the different functions of the multi-view KVM switch.

The USB emulation technology utilized by SM-EDPN-Pro enables immediate hot key source switching through the connected USB keyboard and mouse. Additional USB 2.0 peripherals (e.g. like a USB printer, scanner or storage drive) can also be shared via a built-in 2-port USB hub.

Flexible Sharing
SM-EDPN-Pro supports independent simultaneous device selection. Foe example, it enables the use of a USB keyboard and mouse on one computer while audio and/or other USB peripherals such as scanners and printers are connected to a different computer source. SM-EDPN-Pro also maintains the ability to switch all connected devices to any one of the computer sources as with any other KVM switch in the market.
