The main function of this multi-view KVM switch is to centralize the access of four computer into a single, comprehensive KVM console.

Its USB 2.0 functionality support allows users at the console to access USB devices that would otherwise be unavailable. For example, it allows the use of a flash memory drive or camera without having to plug it directly into the remote computer.

By centralizing IT hardware outside the control room, the system significantly reduces heat, noise, and clutter, while delivering real-time, zero-disruption access to all connected systems – including those requiring RS-232 communication.

EDID Aux Emulation
With EDID Aux (DisplayPort Auxiliary channel) video emulation, your window and monitor configurations remain intact when switching between computers, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted workflow.

Unlike traditional DisplayPort KVM switches, SM-EDPN-ATC-4D is designed to overcome the inherent DisplayPort loss of emulated picture when switching from one connected computer to another (leading to a disorganized desktop video upon switching). SM-EDPN-ATC-4D's built-in EDID Aux emulation offers full EDID video emulation that ensures visual workspaces and screen resolutions are remembered every time you switch between computers.

Flexible Control
Any external device or program supporting RS-232 can control SM-EDPN-ATC-4D. SM-EDPN-ATC-4D uses a very simple protocol, enabling easy integration with the RS-232 control devices.
A front-panel push-button along with keyboard hot-keys also allow the user to switch and control all the different functions of the KVM switch.

The USB emulation technology utilized by SM-EDPN-ATC-4D enables immediate hot key source switching through the connected USB keyboard and mouse. Additional USB peripherals can be attached, like a USB printer. RS-232 control and front panel switching are also supported.

Flexible Sharing
SM-EDPN-ATC-4D supports independent simultaneous device selection. It enables the use of a USB keyboard and mouse on one computer while other USB peripherals such as speakers, scanners and printers are connected to the other computer source. SM-EDPN-ATC-4D maintains the ability to switch all connected devices to any one of the computer sources as with any other KVM switch in the market.
