WS100: Spot water sensor 

detects the presence of distilled water for protecting your electronic equipment from water damage 

Water leaks can be a disaster, causing damage and potential large monetary losses. Protect your facility and infrastructure using spot water sensors.

Placed at strategic positions under raised flooring in a data center, they can be used as an early warning indicator when water may pose a threat. The spot water sensor uses technology developed by AKCP to detect the presence of even de-ionised water.

AKCP spot water sensor is an advanced microprocessor based design capable of detecting distilled water. In contrast, standard water detectors are unable to detect distilled water and water with other impurities due to them using a resistance type circuit. These resistance types rely on electrolytes present in the water, therefore being unable to detect distilled water due to their high resistance.

AKCP spot water sensor's entire circuit is encased in epoxy giving it a waterproof finish that is able to withstand being submerged in water for prolonged periods. It has an SNMP OID for monitoring across a network, and will therefore report its critical condition at anytime before returning to its normal state.

Notifications can be sent to you via SNMP traps, or e-mail (sensorProbe base units) or using any of the wide range of alerts available on AKCP base units.

Notes
AKCP does not recommend this spot water sensor to be placed on a conductive surface. If this is required, add the Insulation Coating WSIC (see listing below) to each spot water sensor ordered.
AKCP does not recommend connecting the spot water sensor though patch panels, or using RJ-45 couplers to extend them.
