Data Center Energy Optimization
QuicklimeData center optimization focuses on improving the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of data-center facilities. Typical strategies involve optimizing airflow through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, which simulates air movement, temperature distribution, and heat transfer within the data center to identify hotspots, inefficiencies, and optimal layouts for racks and vents.

CFD models are used in the design phase to test various configurations such as adjusting aisle containment, fan speeds, or placement of perforated floor tiles. Quicklime incorporates CFD tools that can be used at the design stage, but more importantly, during operation. sensorCFD is a sensor backed CFD analysis for accurate, near real-time optimization.

sensorCFD is an iterative process, where sensor data feeds into the CFD model, the results are then analyzed using advanced AI tools, which produces recommendations for improvements. These are then implemented and validated through further simulations. Up to 10% energy reductions can be achieved through this process.

sensorCFD creates the CFD analysis based on live sensor data. Connecting the sensor data and asset mapping of Quicklime it generates a CFD analysis of your facility. The results are fed into an AI analytical tool that produces a report with suggested problem areas and improvements. An Energy report is also produced that calculates estimated energy savings and a coefficient of performance (COP) of your data center.

It is here where the true value of Quicklime can be found, where energy is saved and the software becomes more than simply a monitoring and management tool, but an asset that provides a return on investment.

Monitoring
Fully SNMP compliant, monitor third party devices with Quicklime virtual sensors. Integrate intelligent PDUs, UPS systems, monitor server loads, system uptime and calculate live PUE.

Quicklime monitoring for all your AKCP sensors. Manage sensor thresholds, alerts and reports. Customizable desktops to display sensor data with gauges, graphs, rack mapping and data center visualization through 2D and 3D maps. Close integration to AKCP thermal-map sensors displays rack inlet, outlet and △T values for each of your racks. Identify hotspots and cold spots in your data center.

Quicklime Monitoring

Capacity Planning
Plan where you can increase data center capacity. Find racks with available space, check for sufficient power and identify stranded capacity that is wasting energy.

With Quicklime asset tracking and management feature you can find capacity in your data center. View available rack space, with power meters check for sufficient power overhead. With the addition of temperature monitoring and cabinet rack maps, find where you have colds pots and capacity can be increased without the need for additional cooling.

Quicklime Capacity Planning

Asset Management
At the heart of the DCIM are all of the appliances and equipment that make up your infrastructure. Map out your data center and locate the assets. Connect the assets with sensors to monitor the environmental, power or security parameters of those assets.

Thermal Risk Monitoring
Protect IT equipment from high temperatures and monitor for hotspots in your racks. Meet ASHRAE recommendations for data center operating temperatures.

Efficient Energy Usage
Efficient use of cooling, check for cold spots in your data center. Areas that are over-cooled or under utilized. Improve your energy efficiency, reduce operational costs.

AKCP sensorCFD performs a CFD analysis of your data center, utilizing live sensor data as the input. This sensor constrained model more accurately simulates your data centers airflow, cooling capacity and efficiency.

Through the analysis of multiple sensors per rack a model of your data centers thermal capacity is generated. Identification of stranded capacity, over cooled and under utilized cooling units enables proven energy savings.

Quicklime Efficient Energy Usage
