ILPM

In-line power meters go between the electrical source and a PDU or an individual appliance, monitoring voltage (V), current (A) and kilowatt-hours (kWh) being consumed.

In-line power meters allow you to identify power hungry equipment with billable grade accuracy and remotely switch devices on and off (with an optional relay).

Alerts can be sent via an email or SNMP trap.

ILPM

Using in-line power meters remove the controller from your power strip and allow you to use a low cost basic power strip. This gives several advantages, in addition to the cost savings:
• A single IP address to monitor multiple cabinets
• Hot swappable controller, no downtime to cabinets if servicing is needed
• More space for outlets on your power strip as the controller is moved out of the 0U space
• As future needs increase, just change the power strip no need for new controller and power meter

In-line power meters are essential for:
• Checking how close you are to tripping your circuit breaker
• Ensure sufficient power overhead before adding new equipment to a circuit
• Billing individual clients in co-located services
• Monitoring up to 16 in-line power meters from a single sensorProbe+ monitoring appliance

Optional Latched Relay
An optional latched relay (power switch) can be ordered to be internally integrated with these in-line power meters, to be used to remotely turn the power on and off. The relay can be set to be either normally closed, normally open or bi-stable.

The latched relay does not require constant power to maintain its position. This has a couple of advantages:
1) It uses less power and generates less heat
2) The relay retains its current state (regardless of whether it is receiving power or not) and is not affected by sensorProbe+ monitoring appliance being rebooted

Smoke Detection and Latched Relay Integration
An installed smoke detector connected to a sensorProbe+ monitoring appliance sensor port can be configured - when in alarm state - to trigger the optional relay on these in-line power meters to cut power when smoke is detected inside the rack, removing the source of the heat (the electrical power).

Optional Temperature & Humidity Cabinet Thermal Maps
Optional cabinet thermal maps can be ordered to be hard-wired into these in-line power meters for monitoring top middle and bottom temperature/humidity values in the front and back of a cabinet. By integrating a cabinet thermal map to the in-line power meter, the two sensors are combined into only one sensor-port connection to a sensorProbe+ monitoring appliance.
